Last week brought a lot of trash talk (we like it!) and we are seeing the formation of two arch enemies as a new allied grouping. Pops and Carlos defending each other (when did H-E- double hockey sticks freeze over?)! Anyway, we move on to the losers of the first round of the playoffs last year; otherwise known as the Losers who just weren’t good enough!!!
The losers from the TRI STATE CONFERENCE!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!
Yes NERFL fans, Kimmelitis is back….and 2009 will be better than ever. We have some new bells and whistels to roll out in the near future but for now, we are going to start with our favorite preseason exercise; Predicting the 2009 NERFL Results and ultimately, the 2009 NERFL Champion.
So we start with the losers in the METRO DC CONFERENCE and as much as we would like to give “The Rookie” a break in our annual chastisement of the losers bracket but we can’t. He must suffer through the indignity and the season in the losers “tour-de-force” along with the other three “non-playoff contenders” of 2008…. sorry, Charlie!

We had a decent season of predictions. Last week we were 1-1-0 and our 2008 NERFL Season record is 50-42-0.
Have a great New Year and Kimmelitis will be back in 2009 with more than enough material for the next NERFL Season.

We had a HORRIBLE week last week going 0-2-0 which brings our season record to 49-41-0
NERFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
- (3) Marty’s Schottenheimers -vs- (7) DC Nukes
RIP My Big Boy Red have a career record of 6-6 against the DC Nukes
The Schottenheimers won the 2008 game in week 6 by a score of 111-80
These teams have met three times in the playoffs. All three games have been played in the first round of the playoffs. The DC Nukes won in 2003 and 2006 while the Schottenheimers won in 2005.
Outlook: These teams match up evenly this week and in our computer simulations, the Schottenheimers win 51 times out of 100.
- Schottenheimers win 108-107
- (1) RIP My Big Boy Red -vs- (5) West Hartford Trees
The West Hartford Trees have a career record of 3-3 against the RIPs.
The RIPs won both 2008 games. In week 1 by a score of 118-117 and in week 12 by a score of 135-125.
These teams met once in the playoffs during the 2007 season. The Trees knocked out the RIPs in the third place game by a score of 88-87.
Outlook: The RIPs are reeling from a tough loss last week. They want revenge against the Trees but the computer simulations very rarely predict favorably for same season three-peats. This one will probably be closer than we think but….
- “Da Trees” win this week 119-109
That is all we have for you, be back next Thursday with another round of predictions!

We had a good week last week going 3-1-0 which brings our season record to 49-39-0
-
(1) RIP My Big Boy Red -vs- (7) DC Nukes
RIP My Big Boy Red have a career record of 2-1-1 against the DC Nukes
The DC Nukes won the 2008 game in week 5 by a score of 110-82
These teams have never met in the playoffs.
Outlook: The computer does present Scenarios where the NUKES can upset the RIPs, but that is only 17% of the computer simulations.
- (3) Marty’s Schottenheimers -vs- (5) West Hartford Trees
The West Hartford Trees have a career record of 5-3 against the Schottenheimers.
Marty’s Schottenheimers won the 2008 game in week 8 by a score of 104-88
These teams met once in the playoffs during the 2007 season. The Trees knocked out the regular season champion in Round 1 of the playoffs last year by a score of 83-54.
Outlook: The Schottenheimers are looking for revenge of last year’s early playoff exit at the hands of the Trees but unfortunately, the Trees know when it is time to ramp up the competitive juices and knock teams down to size; during the playoffs!! The Trees are looking for a week 17 rematch against the Trees; only this time in the championship game, not the consolation game….
- “Da Trees” win this week 118-102
That is all we have for you, be back next Thursday with another round of predictions!
