Four Questions & Last Man Standing!

November 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment

We are stealing our question this week from the old ABC “Wide World Of Sports” theme… “…the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat…”

As always, Last Man Standing is at the end of the Q & A ….

FOUR QUESTIONS

  • 1) What is the worst decision(s) you have made in regards to your NERFL team this year? Why?

Pop’s Puppies  –  eddie royal, roy williams, brayon edwards and ladian tomlinson as a group were/are a big disappointment…. its called, no chemistry, no chemistry, whiny child and whatever happened to the old LT [in that order]

Cardiac Kids  –  I haven’t made too many errors yet (and we emphasize the word, YET). When I have lost, I have lost because of performance issues. Knowing what I know today, I might go back to the summer and switch my keeper to Chris Johnson… but still not completely disappointed with my choice as Slaton has posted double digits almost every week.

Carlos  –  Drafting Clinton “Oh My Bum Ankle” Portis.. I told myself i wasn’t going to do it again, but I did.. Dam I was stupid.. And I won’t do that again.. Trust Me.. ..I would’ve been off drafting a Browns Player Instead…

Volume VIII; Edition 11

November 19, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Last week we had another solid week … This week, we are going to go 6-0

Last week our Record was 4-2-0

Which brings our Season Record to 33-27-0

And now… onto this week’s games!

Week 11:

  • Falls Church Players   -vs-   Pop’s Puppies
The Puppies have been running their mouths of late BUT their play on the field has been backing up their verbal diarrhea! This week, though, silence has settled at the Puppies home office as a royal can of whoop arse is about to be opened on the General and his royal minions!

Falls Church Players win this week by a score of 141 to 128

Week 11: Unofficial Standings/Playoff Picture

These are the current UNOFFICIAL NERFL Standings.

Because not all tie-breakers have been settled because all teams have not played each other. These standings are subject to change.

REMEMBER: Division tie-breakers are settled before non-division tie-breakers. A team behind a team within their division cannot leap frog a division rival because of a three-way tie-breaker. The divisional tie-breaker is always settled first. (ie: Dave beat Andy L., Andy L. beat Eli, and Eli beat Dave. Division tie-break gets settled first, then other teams are settled.)

Four questions & Last Man Standing

November 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

At the end of the Four Questions, you will find this week’s LAST MAN STANDING selections!!!  (So far Doug, Rich, Eric and Andy L. have paid up)

FOUR QUESTIONS:

  • 1) Who has the best team in NERFL? Why?

Pop’s Puppies  –  dc nukes/  because they score in bunches

Carlos  –
I would have to Go with The DC Nukes.. Their Stacked more than Dolly Parton’s Rack.. Top to Bottom he has a very solid team.

Cardiac Kids  –  I am not counting my team out of the discussion just yet, but right now…. the DC Nukes are the NERFL Powerhouse!

FC Players  –  Eric and the DC Nukes.  I feel he has the strongest team top to bottom.  Fortunately for the rest of the league his team has had some weeks where they haven’t been firing on all cylinders and that has left them vulnerable.  We have also seen the weeks where the gas tank has been filled with nitro and they have put up some staggering numbers.

DC Nukes  –  This is a hard question.  How do you measure “best?”  By record?  By points scored?  The Trees and Kids have proved their teams in standings.   Slayers have a team that has filled its positions with the top rated players.  Carlos has the most underrated team.  So, my way in deciding the best team, seems to be the only fair way.  I look at which team name has the letters ‘b’ ‘e’ ’s’ and ‘t’ in them.  Since no team has a ‘b’ in it, the ‘best’ teams turn out to be The Rookie Sensation, West Hartford Trees, and Marty’s Schottenheimers.  But, the West Hartford Trees have TWO sets of ‘e’ ’s’ and ‘t’ in them, so they must be the ‘best’ team!!
