At the end of the Four Questions, you will find this week’s LAST MAN STANDING selections!!! (So far Doug, Rich and Andy have paid up)
FOUR QUESTIONS:
- 1) Pop’s Puppies and the Cardiac Kids got into a war of words over the topic of trades last week. Which team would you be more likely to discuss a potential trade with during the NERFL season? Why?
Pop’s Puppies – POPS BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY WANTS TO TRADE. AS EVERYONE COULD SEE SIMS WALKER IS A FIRST LINE WR AND DOUGIE DROPPED MAGAHEE WHEN HE COULDN’T FIND A “SUCKER”/ NEXT QUESTION
DC Nukes – The DC Nukes will trade with anyone, anytime. We prefer to trade with those that are more desperate, but we will take what we can get.
Pissed Off Portugue – Thats simple.. Pop’s puppies. He’s a Good Man, and he’ll always be fair in my book. Pop’s roster also has more to offer im means of a possible trade anyway…Sorry Dougy, You have no one that intrigues me, plus i hope I SEE YOU in The PLayoffs.. PAYBACK Is a Bio##H…………
Dragon Slayers – Probably the puppies, cause he seems more likely to pull off a trade
- 2) Who has the biggest ego in NERFL? And do they deserve to have that bravado or do you silently root for them to get knocked back down to size on a weekly basis?
Pop’s Puppies – ELI BUT SOMEONE SHOULD TEACH HIM THE ART OF TRASH TALK…. NOW IF YOU JUST WANT TO ASK THE SECOND PART OF THE QUESTION THEN MY ANSWER WOULD UNDOUBTEDLY BE MY QUEEN BITCH, ANDREW. LOATHING HAS NO BOUNDS FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO WIN BY ANY MEANS INCLUDING PROTESTING AN ILLEGAL ROSTER WHEN A SIMPLE PHONE CALL OR EMAIL TO ANY NUMBER OF PEOPLE WOULD HAVE RECTIFIED THAT SITUATION BEFORE GAME TIME… BUT NO, ANDREW WENT FOR THE JUGULAR AND NOW HAS THE GENERAL WITH HIS FINGER ON THE BUTTON JUST LOOKING FOR WAYS TO HIT THE PROTEST QUEEN
DC Nukes – I don’t know about the biggest ego, but I have to say that R.I.P. MBBRF is the best dressed.
Pissed Off Portugue – Your Kidding right… It’s Dave.. Oh Sorry .. I thought you asked whose the leagues biggest CRYBABY.. The EGO award goes to my pleasantly Plump Omp-Pa-Lompa Dougy Boy.. He talks-talks and talks.. BLAH-Blah-Blah.. Jeez Shut your pie Hole> doug and stuff another Canoli in there.. He needs to man up, and stop picking on My Boy POps.. He’s Jealous of Pop’s, and he knows It.. Dougs EGO will be the downfall of his team, Just wait and see…………..
Dragon Slayers – Cardiac kids of course, thinks his shit don’t stink. Must be the Yankee in him.
- 3) Tim Graham of ESPN wrote of the Patriots-Titans game, “The Patriots showed they still can land haymakers with Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Laurence Maroney. The Patriots did have something to gain from rolling up the score: a reputation you might find distasteful, but one that could give them a psychological edge.” … do you agree that a 59-0 score against a hapless 0-5 team (prior to the game) really scares the elite team’s of the NFL and gives the Patriots a “psychological edge” in the coming weeks? Why? Why not?
Pop’s Puppies – WHAT IT DOES IS SEND A MESSAGE TO EVERYOTHER TEAM THAT IF GIVEN THE REVERSE SITUATION IT IS OK TO RUN THE SCORE UP ON THE BELICHEKS BECAUSE THEY WILL DO THE SAME TO YOU. THE GIANTS LAST WEEK COULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING TO THE OAKLAND PATHETICS [THANK YOU AL DAVIS FOR BEATING THE HAPLESS AND WINGLESS EAGLES] BUT THEY DID NOT. BECAUSE THE GIANTS FROM THE TOP DOWN ARE A CLASSY GENTLEMENLY ORGANIZATION AND THEY KNOW WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. GOD HELP BILLY B. IF HIS TEAM FALLS PREY TO A RUNAWAY. THERE WILL BE NO SCORE HIGH ENOUGH
DC Nukes – No, it was disgraceful. No team should ever run up the score on a team just prove how good they are. It makes me sick. Of all the most un-sportsman like acts, the one I can’t stand the most is showboating by scoring an obscene amount of points in an otherwise meaningless game.
Pissed Off Portugue – Not at all… Just wait till the Saints get their hands on those candy-ass Patsy’s. i’m calling it now Saints 100 Pats 17… The Patsy’s only angered the other NFL teams, and they also pissed of the Refs for keeping them out in those weather conditons so long in a meanless game. Payback is a Bio##H New England….
Dragon Slayers – Yes this gives them an edge and help the pats themselves
- 4) Along the same vein as the New England drubbing of the hapless Texans mentioned above, does the outright onslaught of points by the DC Nukes (as they literally annihilated the Dragon Slayers) give them a “psychological edge” over the rest of NERFL during the last eight weeks of the regular season? Why? Why not?
Pop’s Puppies – ARE YOU KIDDING. HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU THINK THAT TSUNAMI WILL OCCUR. THE DOG BITES WILL TAKE THEIR CHANCES ANY DAY AGAINST THE NUCLEARS/ BRING THEM ON AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS IF BRADY BEATS SOMEONE 6-3. HOW MANY POINTS WILL HE HAVE THEN….KIMMELITIS DO YOU STAY UP NITES DREAMING OF THIS PSYCO BABBLE TO ASK US????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
(You have been offered the chance to write and submit your own questions…try it!!!)
DC Nukes – No team should be intimidated by a single game. That’s just silly. But, if one was really looking for a reason to be intimidated, for what ever reason, I would have to say one should be intimidated knowing the Nukes had already set the league record for most points once this season… and then broke their own record… by 55 points….. The strategy to my winning is no secret though. I have adopted a time-tested, fundamentally-sound philosophy. It goes like this: On special teams, make sure to fill your lanes and pick up your opponents. On defense, control the middle of the field and put pressure on the quarterback. And on offense, make sure to score 14 touchdowns. That’s it. I know it may sound “old-school” and “cliché,” but it is a strategy that I believe in personally….. But, I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I did give my players a special incentive this game. After starting a miserable 2-3, we were starting to look more like the DC Thousand Pound TNT Air-Drop Bombs than the Nukes. So I gave my team an ultimatum. I said if they didn’t score at least 180 points this game, I would take away their pre-game warm-up Miley Cyrus/Jonus Brothers mix tape. Tom Brady, the most concerned with losing his grove, decided to show up. Also, Moss told me he couldn’t imagine doing an end-zone dance to anything else than “Party in the U.S.A.” ….. ‘Nough said.
Pissed Off Portugue – Sorry, But No way.. That was remarkable what he did, and he won’t do that again.. He has some holes in his team, and if his weekly oppenent can take advantage of those holes in his line-up. His Team is in trouble.. Eric just put a BIG BuLLSEYE on his team. So its official, he’s on everyone’s hitlist for the remainder of the season. Especially mine, since he knocked me out of the CHAMPIONSHIP Game Last Year…
Dragon Slayers – This doesn’t do anything in the league cause the nukes just got things going for them that week and doesn’t mean that they do that every week.
LAST MAN STANDING
Cardiac Kids – Dragon Slayers
DC Nukes – THE PISSED OFF PORTUGUE
Marty’s Schottenheimers – Dragon Slayers.
Rookie Sensation – Pissed off Portugue
Pissed Off Portugue – DC Nukes
Falls Church Players – The Pissed off Portugue

I have to admit I feel like Rodney Dangerfield, “I get no respect!” And that’s cool and all because I’m one of the few with thick enough skin to take it.
BUT when does no respect actually turn into delusional ideas? Really!
Pop’s — “POPS BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY WANTS TO TRADE.” Okay, but I have actually traded. Without Josh in the off-season on some questionable/dousies of a deal (that ironically bit you on the arse) you never have. Wanting to and doing are two very different things! I want to win the lottery, does that make me better at it than the guty who won $200 million last week?
Carlos — “Pop’s puppies. He’s a Good Man, and he’ll always be fair in my book. Pop’s roster also has more to offer im means of a possible trade anyway” (a) Good Man? not in dispute, we all agree on that (except Kirsch). (b) Fair in your book? Do you remember the off season trades that sent you so far up the tree you could touch the moon? Really, fair? That’s your story? Wow! and (c) having more to offer (which is probably true and not denied by me) does not mean you will actually get a deal done. But hey, I am all for trying… a couple weeks left before the deadline!
And Rich — “Probably the puppies, cause he seems more likely to pull off a trade” Really?! http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/recentactivity?leagueId=4196&seasonId=2009&activityType=-1&startDate=20090920&endDate=20090922&teamId=3&tranType=-2 That link shows my inseason trade, so I have pulled one off and Pops, well, you know. Keeps sniffing the tree and marking his territory but can seem to get a deal done.
I have two state two things:
1) There is a lot of glue sniffing in NERFL.
2) ERIC has the funniest answers to any question ever asked. Thanks for the humor Eric!!!

Get me back…. hmmm…. “Carlos said, “The EGO award goes to my pleasantly Plump Omp-Pa-Lompa Dougy Boy.. He talks-talks and talks.. BLAH-Blah-Blah.. Jeez Shut your pie Hole> doug and stuff another Canoli in there.. ”
My response to this: (with all apologies to the author of this song)
“Oompa Loompa doompadee doo
I’ve got another puzzle for you
Oompa Loompa doompadah dee
If you are wise you’ll listen to me
What do you get when you attempt to retaliate?
An ulcer spurred by resentment will become your fate.
Why don’t you just try turning the other cheek?
Or do you think that will make you look meek?
Oompa Loompa Doompadee Dah
If you are kind you will go far
You will live in happiness too
Like the Oompa
Oompa Loompa doompadee do”
Peace Out. Have a nice weekend. I must get back to the chocolate factory!

and yet again dougie looks to history instead of being based in the present reality.
i say to you all “would anyone in this league trade a no. 1 receiver for a part time running back.
and yet dougie continues to deny the possibility that his offer of a now free agent magahee for a no 1 wr in sims walker was a ploy to steal.
yes doug you have achieved success in trading IN THE PAST. but when you offer such garbage as your willingness to trade you just make the nonsense you spout more idiotic.
if you want to trade put a wr on the table for a no. 1 running back. i’ll trade you value for value
make me an offer that works otherwise PLEASE just shut up

Hahahahahahahahahaha….too funny.
Other than Steve Smith (NYG), there isn’t anyone on your roster I have ever wanted.
And realizing the number of children I would have to throw into the deal for Smith. I’ll pass.
Off course, you thinking McGahee for Sims was a real offer makes my day so much better.

doug, I’M DONE WIYH YOU……
YOUR OFFICIALLY OFF MY X-MAS CARD LIST TOO.
my comment was suppose to be directed towards Eric, for his Best Dressed Comment..
But should’ve realized. NERFL is Doug’s second world, and anything said is intended for him…
Doug // October 24, 2009 at 11:01 am |
Pardon my confusion. I had just listed you in my previous response, followed by an unlabeled comment that say, “Thanks for the honor.. I’ll get you back…don’t worry…”
By deductive reasoning, I figured the comment was for me. Now had it said, “Thanks Eric for the honor.. I’ll get you back…don’t worry…” then I would have not drawn the conclusion I did. Sorry if it offended but hey, I worked the Oompa-loompa song into a NERFL comment…

Wow, Pop’s! The Rookie Sensation has been in the league for only six and a half games and he has more career in season trades the you do!
Now that’s funny!
