Outlook: The Schottenheimers are looking for revenge of last year’s early playoff exit at the hands of the Trees but unfortunately, the Trees know when it is time to ramp up the competitive juices and knock teams down to size; during the playoffs!! The Trees are looking for a week 17 rematch against the Trees; only this time in the championship game, not the consolation game….

This is the Kimmelitis section that allows the owners of NERFL to predict how every NERFL game of the week will turn out. Vying for a prize at the end of the season for having the best record in the “You Make The Call…” Contest, we are surprised that only four NERFL Owners weighed in. Better hope they have bad records because the prize won’t be based on winning percentage, it will be based on the most number of games called correctly during the season.
So, Let’s get started:

We, at Kimmelitis, decided to let you all do the talking this week. Tomorrow morning, we will debut our “YOU MAKE THE CALL…” section and let you all continue to do the talking for this week.
For now, we at Kimmelitis will take it easy on everyone by simply playing nice for one week and just calling the games as we see them. Based on our computer models, here is how we see the opening week of NERFL:

This is our initial Power Rankings for the Season. It is a projection of the season based on draft results and our own equations. As real games take place, “real projections” will drastically change the weekly team Power Rankings.
Therefore, based on our calculations, these are our initial Power Rankings heading into the first week of NERFL:

It is time to predict the 2008 NERFL winners in every category, starting at the Conference level. All three Conferences have been re-shuffled based on the records of the 2007 season and the teams in the New England Conference proved to be the cream of the crop (if you believe this rag tag group could be the cream of anything). Anita’s Angels won it all over the AARP aging brain of “Tuna Light” who is running pop’s Puppies (You should see the “Tuna Light” on a dance floor, he can cut a rug, I tell ya…) and anchored (literally and figuratively) by the juggernaut Mors Hostibus who is the only team to start a season 0-5-1 and clinch a playoff spott at 7-6-1… So Kimmelitis has one all important question:
Which one of these premier NERFL team will win the 2008 New England Conference?
1) Mors Hostibus
2) West Hartford Trees
3) Pop’s Puppies
4) Anita’s Angels
Please rank all four teams in order and give us what you think there 2008 regular season record will be after the fourteen game regular season.
